This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions

  • This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California’s current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

  1. Describe your professional experience developing and executing digital communications strategies. Please provide examples, explaining your strategic approach, tactics and outcomes.
  2. Share an example where you created or refined a website process to address a certain issue.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • 3+ years working in digital communications, with experience in managing website content and assisting in the development of content strategy.
  • Experience developing and overseeing website publishing processes, identifying key issues, crafting user stories and generating successful digital solutions.
  • Experience building and supporting website strategies, including calculation and assessment of data.
  • Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to work across internal teams and divisions to help ensure a consistent and seamless consumer journey and experience, and the ability to collaborate with a large variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management processes and tools, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with multicultural markets and media, with a focus on hard-to-reach or hard-to-convince populations and addressing cultural or linguistic barriers to access. Bilingual skills a plus.
  • An understanding of California’s population and demographic landscape, with an emphasis on communities with the greatest health disparities and needs. Health insurance and health care experience preferred, but not required.

Pre-Employment Requirments
