Job Description

Texas law firm has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for a TEXAS-LICENSED LEGAL RESEARCH & RESEARCH ATTORNEY , who seeks to work part-time and remotely.

Applicants for the position of Legal Writing and Research Attorney must possess superior legal writing and legal research skills and be admitted to, and in good-standing with, the State Bar of Texas.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate superior writing and research skills, as well as experience with Texas civil matters, through the submission of samples of the applicant’s legal writing which demonstrate the applicant’s ability to research and write briefs for both dispositive motions (e.g., motions for summary judgment), discovery motions, and discovery requests and responses.

The ideal candidate is a solo practitioner who is seeking additional work, but who does not want to: (1) incur additional expenses for advertising and marketing, (2) spend time attending “networking” and other client-development events, and (3) manage or perform back-office tasks such as client billing and collections.

Legal Research and Writing Attorneys may work from home or from any other suitable location.

Attorneys who are invited to join the Firm must be experienced, responsible, and motivated “self-starters,” who are “client-service” oriented.

Minimum Qualifications (no exceptions):

• Be licensed by, and in good-standing with, the Texas State Bar, with no history of professional discipline;
• Possess superior legal research and writing skills;
• Possess the knowledge and experience needed to work independently, with minimal supervision;
• Be responsible and professional.
