Position Overview: In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with visually impaired students, providing individualized support and guidance through remote education. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and specialists to ensure each student's needs are met, empowering them with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students, utilizing adaptive teaching methods in a virtual setting.
Provide instruction in orientation, mobility, and other essential adaptive skills, ensuring students have the tools they need to navigate their world.
Collaborate with parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to address the vision-specific needs of each student.
Stay up-to-date with the latest assistive technologies, incorporating them into lessons to enhance student learning and engagement.
Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging online learning environment that encourages growth, independence, and confidence for visually impaired students.

Required Qualifications:

Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
In-depth knowledge of visual impairments and their impact on learning.
Proficiency with Zoom and other online learning platforms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
