Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Accounting Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Pasadena, California, this role involves managing essential accounting functions and ensuring accuracy in financial records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and accounts payable processes. Responsibilities: - Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. - Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. - Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments. - Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing activities. - Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. - Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. - Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. - Continuously review and improve accounting processes for greater efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience in general ledger maintenance and financial reporting. - Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures. - Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail. - Ability to prepare accurate and timely journal entries. - Familiarity with accounting principles and standards. - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications. - Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
