Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team. This entry-level accounting role focuses on the financial operations of assigned ambulatory surgery centers. You'll be responsible for financial reporting, cash management, bank reconciliations, budget analysis, and work paper preparation. This position also provides opportunities to contribute to special projects and financial analysis.
This is a remote-centric hybrid position, with the flexibility to primarily work from home while visiting the office 2-3 times per month.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary financial resource for center personnel.
Manage cash flow, including inflow and outflow of funds for assigned centers.
Oversee financial statement preparation, including creating journal entries and cash flow statements.
Perform financial analysis, including identifying and reporting significant variations in financial data.
Manage assets by reconciling fixed asset accounts and reviewing physical inventory counts.
Conduct income statement trend analysis and provide detailed review notes.
Reconcile bank accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
Train center personnel on best practices to resolve identified irregularities.
Analyze balance sheet accounts, accounts receivable balances, and payroll/benefit activity.
Audit legal agreements, assist with lease analysis, and manage debt maintenance.
Support the implementation of process improvements for financial accuracy.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution is required.
Experience:
Public accounting or industry experience is a plus.
Healthcare experience is an advantage but not required.
