Job Description
System One is seeking a Shipping Bill of Materials Specialist for a long-term contract in Lake Mary Florida.
Summary: The SBOM Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all materials listed within a Bill of Materials (BOM) are accurately shipped by suppliers according to project requirements. This role involves reviewing technical documentation—including Purchase Orders, Specifications, and Engineering Drawings—and proactively communicating with suppliers and internal teams to avoid delivery issues, site delays, and financial penalties. The goal is to minimize Overage, Shortage, and Damage (OS&D) reports and ensure complete, accurate deliveries to project sites.
Responsibilities:
• Review SBOMs to verify inclusion of all required loose-ship materials in outgoing shipments.
• Cross-reference BOMs with Purchase Orders, Specifications, and Engineering Drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Piping).
• Ensure accuracy in documentation and identify discrepancies or missing components before shipment.
• Act as liaison among Engineering, Suppliers, Global Sourcing, Logistics, and Field Advisors to resolve any SBOM-related issues.
• Coordinate timely SBOM reviews to prevent delays in downstream project functions (Quality, Expediting, Document Control).
• Engage directly with suppliers to clarify issues and confirm shipment accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders through Microsoft Teams and other communication platforms.
• Communicate with Quality Control and Expediting teams prior to releasing shipping documentation.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports on SBOM review activities to the Materials Manager.
• Participate in bi-weekly department meetings and provide status updates as needed.
• Uphold a high standard of professionalism in all communications and interactions.
• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies.
• Support departmental and company goals through teamwork and proactive engagement.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

Requirements:
• Proficient in English (spoken and written); Spanish and/or Japanese a plus.
• Strong understanding of shipping processes related to electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering documents, technical specifications, and procurement materials.
• Competency in analyzing technical information and communicating solutions clearly.
• Familiarity with large industrial equipment such as Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, HRSGs, Generators, Air Inlet Filter Houses, etc., is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, Adobe PDF, and Microsoft Teams.
• Skilled in reading technical drawings and interpreting diagrams and flowcharts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
