Several full-time positions available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Division located at 7300 Hawthorne Road
Salary Range: $23.98-$36.60/Hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Sunday-Thursday & Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. or Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities - Assigns work and participates in sampling, process control tests, check and operating equipment, line valves, evaluating unit process performance and maintaining a lean and safe work environment.
- Evaluates laboratory results and operational data to determine the condition of processes and makes process control decisions, including changes in chemical dosages, filter operations and sludge wasting rates.
- Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and line valves by writing Work Orders for preventive maintenance and repair work.
- Maintains accurate, complete, up-to-date operational records.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment and processes.
- Trains Plant Operators and PO Trainees in plant operations and maintenance and safety.
- Uses computer for SCADA system, telemetry, factory talk and power BI.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications REQUIRES high school graduation and possession of a B-level operator certification in water/wastewater issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
