Personal Care Attendant

A Personal Care Attendant is responsible for assisting Etelcare clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulation, and otherwise providing support to a client so that he or she may continue to live independently. A Personal Care Attendant may also provide companion and chore services with the goal of meeting a client’s emotional and environmental needs. A Personal Care Attendant must demonstrate a commitment to customer service and a team mentality.

Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• At least 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance
• Clean criminal history and driver’s record

Competency/Skill Requirements:

• Knowledge and understanding of attendant care and companion services
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being able to read, write and speak English
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Mature and responsible judgment needed to assist client in meeting his or her goals and ensure confidentiality at all times
• Ability to follow direction and accurately report to supervisor issues or changes in client’s condition
• Ability to use assistive equipment, including Hoyer lift and wheelchairs
