Job Description

Marian Medical Services is currently seeking to hire for a full time Medical Assistant to join our team! The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers in delivering patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic or medical office. This role demands a blend of clinical skills, administrative expertise, and excellent interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Clinical Duties :

  1. Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
  2. Assist the physician during exams.
  3. Explain treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patients.
  4. Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.

Administrative Duties :

  1. Answer telephones and schedule appointments
  2. Update and file patient medical records.
  3. Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.

Patient Interaction :

  1. Ensure that patients are comfortable in the clinic waiting area and waiting times are minimal.
  2. Provide informative and supportive communication to patients and their families.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare practices, and office procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Proficient in medical documentation, coding, and insurance verification.
  • Experience in phlebotomy.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and exceptional customer service.
Skills:
  • Clinical Skills : Knowledge of healthcare operations, understanding of clinical procedures, and familiarity with patient care.
  • Administrative Skills : Strong organizational abilities, proficiency in medical software, and the capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to interact positively with patients and medical staff.

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, and private medical practices.
  • The role may require standing for long periods and interacting with patients who have infectious diseases.

Work Hours:

  • Work hours can vary, including early mornings, evenings, but are typically performed during regular business hours (no weekends).
