At Vital Lyfe, we are on a mission to solve global water scarcity by creating innovative, desalination systems. This is an opportunity to join a passionate, multidisciplinary team tackling one of the world’s most critical challenges. Position Mission Statement
Own the desalination pump from cradle to grave including design, testing, integration, and operation. Work with other teams to ensure the pump meets all system level requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Pump Design and Development :
  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of the main pump for our desalination product.
  • Ensure the pump meets stringent requirements for performance, durability, and efficiency.
• Prototyping and Testing :
  • Build and test pump prototypes to validate performance under real-world conditions.
  • Conduct testing to ensure the pump achieves high reliability and low maintenance in diverse environments.
• Material Selection :
  • Research and select lightweight and corrosion-resistant materials to optimize performance and longevity.
• System Integration :
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate the pump into the overall system.
• Manufacturing and Scalability :
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM) and ensure the pump can be scaled.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to refine production methods.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA software packages.
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing (internship experience included).

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing and testing high-pressure pumps or fluid systems.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and pump performance optimization.
• Experience with materials selection for high-pressure, lightweight applications.
• Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing techniques, including DFM and DFA.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in challenging scenarios.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and manage projects to completion.
