Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Virtual Intervention Specialist to join our fully remote team. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse learning needs across Ohio. As a Virtual Intervention Specialist, you will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), provide virtual instruction, and work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to ensure student success in an online learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs tailored to meet the unique learning needs of each student, ensuring progress and success.

Virtual Instruction: Provide engaging one-on-one or small group virtual instruction using teletherapy platforms, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with Educators and Support Staff: Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum, provide accommodations, and ensure students' needs are met effectively in the virtual setting.

Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Continuously monitor student progress, using data to assess learning outcomes, and adjust instructional methods to meet individual needs.

Maintain Communication: Stay in regular contact with parents, teachers, and administrators, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns promptly.

Compliance with Special Education Laws: Ensure all virtual services comply with Ohio state and federal special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504, maintaining a high standard of legal and ethical practice.

Utilize Technology Effectively: Leverage technology tools to create an engaging and interactive virtual classroom experience, encouraging student participation and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

Education: A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.

Certification: A valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (K-12).

Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Intervention Specialist, with preference for experience in virtual instruction or teletherapy settings.

Skills: A strong understanding of virtual instructional strategies, along with proficiency in teletherapy tools and platforms.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
