Opportunity for motivated individual with a background in employee orientation and supporting individuals orientating to Carilion Clinic. Strong project management, consulting and writing skills required. Preference for candidates who are flexible and adaptive as needs changes. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement personalized orientation planning for people served based on the individual's skills, goals, and interests by conducting discovery and assessments.
• Facilitate job starts and provide training and consultations to leaders and co-workers to enable them to become a natural support to the person served.
• Facilitate further training or coaching to support new hires orientation and onboarding.
• Job coach people served by using task design, trainings, and support strategies.
• They evaluate the needs of the people we serve through timely assessment, communication, and observation, and modify orientation and onboarding to support learner needs.
• Implements, analyzes, and reports on a periodic learning needs assessment in support of training implementation.
• Consult with internal customers to identify learning and development needs related to orientation and onboarding training programs.
• Is creative and uses effective problem-solving techniques that lead to the development and implementation of new approaches and methods at every opportunity. 
• Fosters an environment of continuous improvement, best practices, lessons learned, and quality outcomes.
• Assesses training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, consultants or others.
• Demonstrates flexibility in response to competing demands, shifting priorities and organizational constraints.
• Foster relationships with the community to support talent development.
• Consult with employees and leaders to create pro-active and responsive solutions to individual, team and departmental development needs.
• The ability to lead, delegate, facilitate, provide feedback, and make decisions while managing issues, conflicts, budgets, and client relationships.
• Reports compliance and evaluation outcomes to management and others as appropriate. 
• Measures and reports on the impact of orientation and onboarding programs on organizational goals.
• Uses evaluation data on an on-going basis to revise and continuously improve orientation and onboarding strategies. 

 

 

 

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or 8 years' related experience required.

Experience:  Prefer 5+ years of previous HR, education or organizational development. Experience in workforce orientation preferred. Fluency in a second language preferred. 

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Lawson knowledge preferred. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines and being flexible in an environment of changing priorities.
