Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced attorney to join us as a part-time Legal Content Creator. This remote role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of valuable "how-to" practice notes, forms, checklists, and legal analyses within the healthcare regulatory space. This project is scheduled to begin in March 2025, with an initial duration of three months and the potential for extension.
Compensation and Schedule:
Pay: $45 per hour.
Hours: 10-20 hours per week, offering flexible scheduling.
Location: Fully remote.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive "how-to" practice notes, forms, checklists, and legal analyses covering a range of healthcare regulatory, transactional, and compliance-based legal matters.
Draft new content and enhance existing documents by incorporating guidance derived from case law, statutes, regulations, industry customs, and practical legal experience.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to ensure the accuracy and relevance of all content.
Perform detailed taxonomy and language analysis of healthcare legal topics.
Contribute to the creation of practical guides that provide clear and actionable insights.
Potentially contribute to newsletters and other legal publications.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare regulatory law.
Demonstrated expertise in drafting legal materials within the healthcare, hospital, and health systems sector, specifically focusing on regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters.
Strong understanding of health law issues, including licensing, governance, healthcare fraud/anti-kickback/FCA, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, and related areas.
Proven ability to create clear and concise legal content, such as practical guides and checklists.
Excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including track changes, and ability to conduct effective online research.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
Experience with compliance functions.
Knowledge of HealthCare.gov, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Experience with surveys and licensing issues.
Experience with drafting newsletters and handling reimbursements.
Experience with transactional operations.
Strong organizational, self-motivation, and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet prescribed deadlines.
Experience contributing to publications and magazines is a strong plus.
Experience working with legal templates.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
