Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE

As a Shopper, you operate as the representative of the customer. Hannaford To Go customers entrust you to provide them with a shopping experience that is on par or better than what they would receive if shopping themselves. You ensure all customers receive a shopping experience that is of the highest quality. A typical day includes:

• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt courteous service and assistance.
• Accurately match all items from the customer’s on-line shopping list.
• Ability to shop multiple customer orders simultaneously using designated tools and equipment.
• Substitute items for customers if requested.
• Assist customers picking up orders at designated pickup location.
• Recognize or differentiate between types of produce merchandise carried in the store.

• Bag or package merchandise according to established company policies and procedures.
• Label and store in designated area for customer pick up.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance.
• Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner, with immediate attention given to refrigerated and other perishable items.

• Support and comply with all company safety standards.
• Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed.
• Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.
• Be knowledgeable in and able to recognize and differentiate between various types of produce merchandise.

• Record on designated forms any price discrepancies and/or “not on file” items encountered on electronic point-of-sale terminal.
• Secure Shopping Devices and accessories when unattended; protect company assets at all times.
• Assist the Expeditor with transporting and loading orders to customers' vehicles as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements for the Hannaford To Go Service.

Physical Requirements

• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing/walking during the majority of the shift.
• Ability to wear the shopping device hands-free while shopping orders.
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.

• Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
• Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.
• Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas.
• Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, shellfish, house plants/flowers and household cleaners.

• Have sufficient visual acuity to read the shopping device display screen and check identification cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.

Salary range is between $15.10 - $22.60 hourly.
