Position: Director of Finance and Contracts
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Hybrid (Virginia Beach / Remote)

Summary
INTER-OP is seeking a Director of Finance with experience in Federal Government Contracting to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic guidance to management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with federal government contracting as well as proficiency with UNANET accounting systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the preparation and submission of incurred cost proposals in compliance with DCAA requirements.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and government regulations.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management.
• Serve as advisor regarding contractual requirements, risk mitigation, customer specifications and government regulations.
• Detect issues related to contract administration and proposals and recommend solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with Federal Government Contracting is highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with Unanet Accounting System is preferred
• Experience with creating financial statements and performing the month-end, year-end and contract closeout process.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Creative problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
