Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven EHS Manager to join our Leadership Team at our Alcoa, TN facility. Reporting to the Tennessee Operations Plant Manager, the EHS Manager will oversee and lead all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Plant Protection systems. This role is essential in fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and integrate EHS initiatives aligned with corporate strategy and site objectives.

  • Set and track EHS performance goals; report results internally and externally.

  • Direct fatality risk prevention programs and promote Human and Organizational Performance (HOP).

  • Oversee plant safety, industrial hygiene, medical, security, and fire protection activities.

  • Ensure compliance with US EPA and Tennessee state regulations (air, water, waste, stormwater).

  • Develop and maintain operational controls and procedures for risk mitigation.

  • Lead site-based EHS teams, including Fatality Prevention, Joint EHS Lead, H&S Lead, and HOP Steering Teams.

  • Manage and enhance the EHS management system to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory alignment.

  • Ensure timely incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions via internal systems.

  • Coach and influence plant leadership to drive a safety-first culture.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, and industrial hygiene.

  • Proven experience implementing HOP principles at a facility or organizational level.

  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance (EPA, state, and local regulations).

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree or certifications: CSP, CIH, PE, or CEM.

  • Experience in Tennessee regulatory environments (air, water, waste, etc.).

  • Background in metals manufacturing is required .

  • Previous operations experience is required .

  • Stable employment history No job hoppers .

  • Prior experience working for direct industry competitors is highly desirable.
