Location: HYBRID – 4 days remote and 1 day onsite at Hill AFB - Must be located within 2 hours of Hill AFB
Govt Client: Defense Information Security Agency (DISA)
Clearance: DoD Interim/Active Secret
Salary:  Depending on Experience (DOE)

Job Summary

Diligent Solutions seeks a dedicated Database Administrator to support 24x7x365 operations. The successful candidate will ensure the availability, security, and continuity of various database environments, providing critical administration, maintenance, and recovery solutions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification Required: CompTIA Security+
• Security Clearance Required: DoD Interim Active Secret
• Candidates must have experience with Oracle or MS SQL technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Manage database components, including vendor software, storage, memory, security, auditing, logging, access control, high-availability architecture, data structures, encryption, and compression.
• Implement backup methodologies and monitor backup logs daily, resolving any issues to ensure complete data recoverability.
• Test and verify that backup and recovery strategies can restore full operational status in case of incidents.
• Perform database recovery and re-installation as necessary to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
• Configure and monitor data replication schemes, ensuring redundancy and recoverability in alignment with SLAs.
• Application Integration & Upgrades: Integrate databases with master applications and handle database elements of software upgrades in coordination with DISA’s change management.
• Script Execution: Execute database scripts (DML/DDL) as per approved protocols.
• Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize database and application performance, identifying root causes and preventing future issues.
• Required Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience with Oracle or MS SQL database technologies.
• Knowledge in data migration, cloning methodologies, and database network integration.
• Proficiency in backup, recovery, replication, and security methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in database management and performance tuning.
