General Purpose of Job: The Creative Design Coordinator is responsible for producing informational and promotional graphic material for Driscoll Children's Hospital, hospital departments, clinics and health plan including design and layout of brochures, newsletters, advertisements, magazines, invitations, flyers and other projects as deemed appropriate. Responsible for researching benchmarks & design trends, while implementing DCH's graphic brand guide both internally and externally. In charge of gathering information, managing assigned tasks, and crafting messages (copy writing) for advertising and collateral materials. Serves as the department's creative lead and graphic designer. Quotes and reserves space in various print mediums and places advertisements. Provides marketing and public relations support as requested by Senior Director of Marketing and Community Relations. The Graphics Production Manager is responsible for planning and producing PowerPoint and video presentations. The Graphics Production Manager will be expected to design and write copy for ads, brochures, newsletters, etc. with creativity and within the deadlines set by the AVP. - Creates graphic design layouts, creative concepts and copywriting
- Ensures every graphic material is compliant with the brand guide and with the marketing and branding strategy
- Creates and gets internal approval from internal clients of digital, traditional, and other marketing related materials
- Maintains high quality creative and graphic standards
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines
- Develops creative concepts and designs and produces ideas consistent with DCH brand and audiences for print ads, newsletters, magazines, outdoor art and various collateral materials
- Researches and writes copy for advertising and collateral materials, as well as newsletters and magazines
- Buys and places print and outdoor media as requested, charts media schedule for AVP and maintains all renewal deadlines
- Responsible for supervising photography services for the department
- Takes media calls as assigned
- Treats customers with respect and dignity
- Maintains sufficient supply inventories to complete job and responsible for maintaining log of equipment loaned / used
- Works with AVP to ensure quality projects in a manner of stewardship
- Provides AVP with ongoing updates on all duties and responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times
Supervisory Responsibilities: - Supervises one FTE: Website/Graphics Specialist
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; minimum two to three years related experience and/or training including strong layout and design background, strong copy writing and proofreading skills. Experience with media buying and placement is essential. Supervisory skills are essential.
