A Hybrid working model Now offices are fully open we have embraced a hybrid working model, which allows our employees to split their time between the office and other locations, something we hope will provide everyone much more flexibility to their working week. What does a North America Financial Controller do at Hogarth? The NA Financial Controller is responsible for all accounting operations for the North America team via the NY office. Reporting to the North America Finance Director, the NA Financial Controller will manage the FP&A, GL, AR/AP and payroll teams.
Responsibilities: - Manage reporting to WPP for the month end, quarter end, half year and year end processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting of P&Ls, Balance sheets, forecasts, budgets and delivering clear and accurate commentary on variances to budget and forecast to Hogarth global, Senior Management and JV Partners.
- Lead internal and external audits, including the agreed upon procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, IFRS, GAAP, and WPP financial practices and policies and ensuring all SOX controls for the team are signed off by internal deadlines
- Manage tax reporting and tax filing requirements including compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Reconcile/oversee reconciliation accuracy of general ledger accounts and of a fully reconciled Balance Sheet monthly.
- Drive efficiencies and establish procedures within the business to improve the financial reporting process
- Review aged debt and creditor reports and manage the timely collection of payments.
- Responsible for records management within the organization.
- Ongoing review of financial process and practices with an eye toward enhancing profitability and improving effectiveness.
- Work closely with Finance Plus to define processes and handoffs, including being a point of escalation
- Take lead role in Financial Reporting Systems implementation for internal management accounts.
- Responsible for year-end closing analysis, and annual 401K audit.
- Support cost savings initiative by partnering with the finance leads and team on new initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Flag, escalation and management of any issues / concerns in a timely fashion
- Manage, support and develop all members of the team to actively train and improve staff knowledge and experience
- Contribute to Hogarth Worldwide NY office agency culture by exhibiting ownership, collaboration, professionalism, passion and leading by example.
Job requirements :
- 10+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or equivalent field
- Ideal candidate will have public accounting experience in audit as well as experience in Client Services industry, preferably media, production or advertising
- Results-driven with strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Expert financial analysis skills
- Ability to concisely and clearly present information to financial and non-financial people
- Strong line manager with ability to hire, retain, and develop staff, and ability to manage remote teams
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a CPA is a plus
- Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment

Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
