Position: IT Specialist - Cabling

Location: Albany, NY

Duration: Long-term

Job Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience working with the network layer 1
• 5 years of experience with the implementation of large-scale cabling installations, including category 6 cable for network distribution and fiber optic cabling.
• 1 year of experience in Service Now ITSM
• 5 years of experience managing multiple assignments at a time
• 5 years of experience performing onsite walk-throughs with cabling vendors to confirm requirements and answer vendor questions.
• 5 years of experience maintaining network cabling technical documentation, including statement of work, Visio diagrams, operations procedures, and network templates.
• 3 years of experience working with network layer 2 and 3

Job Summary

The ITS Specialist-Senior position will provide technical assistance and assessment of designated NYS OMH facilities via the NYS ITS Network Site Consultation process. This will include, but not be limited to, implementation of large-scale cabling installations, including Category 6 cabling installations for network service distribution.

Job Description:

The consultant will perform a physical onsite assessment for the requested network infrastructure upgrade. This will include but not be limited to:

• Evaluating the current network infrastructure
• Writing Statement of Work (SOWs)
• Updating requests in ITSM
• Scheduling the implementation of the cabling work
• Coordinate on-site visits and walk-throughs with cabling vendors
