Witha focus of supporting College activities on the Framingham and Ashland campuses,this position assists with the procurement of supplies, equipment and services forCollege-wide departments and activities in adherence with State and Collegepolicies and procedures. The Buyer IIIwill also employ knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing, aswell as maintain accurate records. TheBuyer III will analyze and determine the applicability of data to drawconclusions and make appropriate recommendations regarding purchasing. Thisposition also involves the gathering of information through questioningindividuals and examining records and documents.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have atleast (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional orparaprofessional experience in purchasing work, and (B) of which at least twoyears must have been in a professional capacity, or (C) any equivalentcombination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions: I. An Associate's degree with a major inbusiness administration or business management may be substituted for a maximumof one year of the required (A) experience.* II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a majorin business administration or business management may be substituted for amaximum of one year of the required (A) experience and one year of the required(B) experience.**Education toward such adegree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirementsactually completed. NOTE: Educational substitutions will only be permittedfor a maximum of two years of the required experience. Substitutions will be permitted for a maximumof one year of the required (B) experience. Salary Range: AFSCME Unit I, Grade 19 Step 1 $63,064.30 annually. Appointmentsfrom outside the bargaining unit begin at Step 1 of the range.
