Job Description

Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Boiler/Refrigeration Operator to join our client’s team in Rochester! This is a direct hire opportunity with a full suite of benefits upon hire.

Compensation: Base Rate of $22 - $27/hr. This is a non-exempt hourly position with overtime availability. Annual compensation, considering overtime, is estimated between $72,000 - $84,000, with a 7% annual incentive bonus.
Shift: This role follows a rotating shift schedule: two (2) days (6:00 am – 6:00 pm), followed by two nights (6:00 pm – 6:00 am), then four (4) days off.

Summary:
The Boiler/Refrigeration Operator will oversee operations and maintenance of water, boiler, compressed air, and steam distribution systems. Responsibilities include equipment startup and shutdown, chemical unloading, and testing. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on boiler, refrigeration, and water treatment systems, documenting operational data.
• Monitor the water treatment plant, boilers, turbines, and distribution systems, working collaboratively with operations teams.
• Assist with equipment repairs and standard operating procedure updates.
• Conduct chemical testing and manage the secure handling of chemicals.
• Support shutdown and startup operations, maintaining equipment cleanliness and function.
• Perform additional maintenance duties, such as refrigerant handling and pump adjustments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years’ experience in operator/mechanic roles preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, water treatment, piping, and steam turbines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn industrial software (Maximo, Compliant Pro, Tags Pro, Ovation, Pi software).
• Valid NYSDOT driver’s license and insurance.
