Position Description :
The Department of Communication Studies, Law, and Political Science is looking to hire a 9-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Political Science Program. Specifically, the Department is seeking a candidate to teach in international relations, including courses in international organizations, foreign policy, and world politics, and/or pre-law/legal studies, including courses in legal advocacy, legal research and writing, and Constitutional law. Although candidates qualified to teach in both international relations/comparative politics and pre-law/legal studies are preferred, applicants with specialization in one of these areas are welcome to apply. This is an on-campus position located on the Fort Hays State University campus in Hays, KS.
Minimum Qualifications : Minimum qualification for a tenure-track position is a terminal degree (Ph.D. and/or J.D.) from an accredited institution in Political Science, International Affairs, Comparative Politics, Diplomacy, Law, Judicial Politics or a closely related field. Advanced All But Dissertation (ABD) status will be considered with a projected completion date of August 1, 2025. Applicants with later completion dates must demonstrate the timeline for completion through information provided by their dissertation chairperson. Minimum qualifications for a non-tenure track position is a master’s degree from an accredited institution in the fields listed above.
