Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Modeling, Simulation and Training (MST) Product Owner (PO) to support PEO MS, Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Serve as the Product Owner (PO) for the Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MST) team.
• Review and understand systems engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
• Work with Program Management to prioritize new capabilities and defect resolutions.
• Provide guidance to the MST team for each Program Increment (PI) and Sprint.
• Support the development of acceptance criteria for MST tasks and user stories.
• Verify work performed by the MST team to ensure quality and completeness.
• Deliver technical briefings, demonstrations, and strategic advisement to leadership.
• Report on system status, recommended actions, performance risks, competing capabilities, and mission impact.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, science, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience performing relevant duties.
• Strong understanding of modeling and simulation for sensors and weapon systems.
• General knowledge of scenario changes (defense planning, threats) required for testing new command and control capabilities.
• Experience creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog.
• Ability to work directly with Agile software developers to meet deadlines and program objectives.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS systems.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Agilist Certification.
• Ability to take initiative and advocate for ideas with enthusiasm, critical thinking, and a strong team mindset.
