Chipton-Ross is seeking a Laser Technician for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- 3+ years experience working with Optics in a manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years experience working with military grade lasers in a production environment.
- 4+ years experience conducting testing, integration and diagnostics on optics / lasers.
- 4+ years experience in electrical / mechanical assembly.
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble laser and laser system components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Reads work orders, follows production drawings, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
- Capable of assembling, alignment and testing of laser components, lasers and laser systems assemblies while under limited supervision.
- Able to perform optical bonding, cleaning and inspection of laser units.
- Performs optical inspections using inferometric equipment.
- Records, analyzes, and interprets test data.
- Makes recommendations for improvements in yield.
- Coordinates with Engineering, Quality and
- Manufacturing to ensure a low-cost producible design and support the transition from Development to full rate production.
- Records, analyzes, and interprets test data, makes recommendations for improvements in yield.
- Able to mentor and train junior level technicians.
- Assists in setting up and verifying optical, electronic and environmental test equipment.
- Assembles and tests optical, mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
- Assembles mechanical parts and cooling systems.
- Records, analyzes and interprets test data.
- Completes optical bonding, cleaning and inspection of laser units.
- Builds wiring harness, solders and performs PCB assembly of electrical and electro-optical subassemblies.
- All other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Fully capable of working with minimal supervision or direction.
- Thorough understanding of all elements of laser resonator cavities.

- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time-2nd Shift.
- Monday-Friday 01:00pm-10:30pm
